PLUROGEN THERAPEUTICS INC. WINS THE VIRGINIA GROWTH COMPANIES TO
WATCH AWARD

(Charlottesville, VA, October 3, 2007) – PluroGen Therapeutics, Inc. today announced it won the
prestigious Virginia Growth Companies to Watch Award.

PluroGen was selected for this award by the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) and The Venture
Forum.  Neal G. Koller, President & CEO of PluroGen, received the award, which was presented by Patrick
O. Gottschalk, Secretary of Commerce and Trade for the Commonwealth of Virginia and Tom Roberts,
Partner, Harbert Venture Partners, during a special award ceremony held during the Virginia Capital Days
Conference in Richmond, VA.
