PLUROGEN RECEIVES PRELIMINARY OPINION OF APPROVABLE-FOR-SALE IN EUROPE
FOR LEAD BURN AND CHRONIC WOUND GEL
(Charlottesville, VA, 8 July 2009) – PluroGen Therapeutics, Inc. is pleased to announce that the initial
European Health Authority review of our medical device marketing application for our lead burn and chronic
wound topical gel, PluroGel® Silver Sulfadiazine, has resulted in a preliminary opinion of approvable-for-
sale in Europe. The next steps in the European approval process are formal submission of the medical
device marketing application and manufacturing inspection by the European approving body. Pending
approval of the additional steps, PluroGen could be selling PluroGel® Silver Sulfadiazine in Europe by the
end of the year.
Neal G. Koller, President & CEO of PluroGen, commented on the European Health Authority’s Approvability
Opinion that “This is the Company’s most significant milestone so far achieved in 2009 as it clears the way
into the market for our lead topical product for burns and chronic wounds. Even more, it will extend the
PluroGel® product line as this new Silver Sulfadiazine product will compliment PluroGel® products already
being sold - as well as those in development - with our European partner Welcare Industries. This is a
very exciting and extremely important achievement for PluroGen.”
